Samba TV Secures $7.5M Liberty Global Investment

Share:

We are excited to announce that Samba TV has secured a $7.5M investment from Liberty Global – the world’s largest international television and broadband company – which completes our most recent round of financing.

This partnership allows Samba TV to continue our vision of providing industry-leading TV insights and media solutions to Europe’s biggest brands, and help quantify the success of their media plans with the support of Liberty Global viewership data.  Other recent Samba TV investors include Time Warner, IPG and A+E Networks, as well as funding from Disney through our participation in its prestigious Accelerator Class of 2017.

Samba will use this funding to expand its TV audience platform footprint and provide essential TV insights, making audiences more addressable and measurable for agencies, brands and broadcasters across the world. Liberty Global operates in 12 European countries, while Samba TV has offices across US and Europe, and analyzes viewership data through proprietary visual content recognition in more than 40 countries worldwide.

“The television markets in Europe are ready for the next-generation TV experience and business model built on better data and greater personalization for consumers. Our work with Liberty Global and its partners will enable us to reach even more clients interested in rolling out pioneering audience-based advertising models—and deliver those clients even more effective cutting-edge products and solutions.”

– Ashwin Navin, CEO and Co-founder of Samba TV

“Samba are true pioneers in the field of advanced advertising, and we’re excited to be working with them as they expand their business in Europe,” said John Paul, Managing Director of Advanced Advertising and Data at Liberty Global. “We look forward to working together to match their market-leading expertise in targeted advertising and consumer insight with the reach of our best-in-class broadband and video services.”
